Steph's excited because, at the time of writing, its August and she's only been in London two weeks and already she's going to get to sample the second best carnival in the world. Yes Notting Hill is upon us and whilst we can't match the sheer indulgence, hedonism and total commitment of Rio, we make up for it in Jerk Chicken and the sheer diversity of our city..no one can beat London for a cosmopolitan party.

A little tip thrown in from Stephanie in conversation..although we know it as the Rio carnival it's actually celebrated all over Brazil and apparently THE place to go is Salvador in the North of Brazil as Rio is considered a little bit of a tourist trap complete with the usual predators, thanks Stephanie for the info.

Now we must turn our attentions to Stephanie and a little insight into her psyche. Steph' is a graduate who studied tourism in Sao Paolo, she's an intelligent girl with a lust for life. She's a friend of a girl who worked with us before and when we asked her if she'd be interested in coming to work for us in London, she very nearly bit my hand off...well let's be honest you can hardly work in tourism if you've never travelled yourself can you!! The happy consequence of this is that she makes the perfect London date. She retains that wide eyed excitement as everything is new to her and what better city to visit on your first real trip abroad.

So if you're a Londoner, why not take her to Shad Thames for dinner at one of The Conrans with river views, or the OXO Tower and then back to the Tower Thistle for a nightcap..or dancing in the West End. If you're a tourist yourself just take her out and explore London together. I promise you it will be a magical night with this very special young girl.
